City of Buffalo - Voelkers Lanes Apartments

Negative Declaration

Erie County - The City of Buffalo Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Voelkers Lanes Apartments will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the minor subdivision and major site plan approvals for the redevelopment of properties located at 1624, 1628 and 1634 Elmwood Avenue, 666, 668, 670 and 680 Amherst Street, and 155, 141 and 111 Marion Streets. The overall development will occur on a total of 3.102 acres and consists of the phased construction of 275 residential units, 10,500 square foot of commercial space (bowling alley/lounge), community/office space, maintenance/utility space, and 166 off-street parking spaces. Phase 1 consists of the construction of a five-story mixed-use building (250,000 + square foot) containing 230 residential units and 10,500 square foot of mixed-use space. Phase 2 consists of the conversion of a 2 story building into 15 apartments and the construction of a 4 story apartment building with 30 units. The action has been defined broadly to include all proposed site improvements as well as all required discretionary approvals and permits needed for the project. The project is located at 680 Amherst Street in the City of Buffalo, New York.
