Negative Declaration

Chautauqua County - The Silver Creek Central School District, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Capital Improvements Project, 2024 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a proposal by the Silver Creek Central School District (District) to undertake Capital Improvements Project, 2024 which includes various renovations and upgrades at the District's buildings, facilities, and campus.

Proposed renovations of interior building spaces include select classrooms and restrooms; auditorium; pool; Elementary School gymnasium; High School locker rooms; band corridor; and loading dock and freight elevator upgrades. Renovations will include upgraded ceilings, flooring, walls, interior doors, finishes, casework, and asbestos abatement.

Proposed upgrades to building systems include modernized HVAC equipment upgrades such as select classroom and rooftop units, unit ventilators, exhaust units, and controls; electrical items such as LED lighting, security cameras, and cabling upgrades; and various plumbing upgrades. Proposed building exterior envelope work includes masonry restoration and possibly other upgrades at the Bus Garage and Main Building.

Proposed site work includes a synthetic turf multipurpose (baseball, softball, soccer) athletic field with dugouts, backstops, portable and perimeter fencing, portable bleachers, scoreboards / sound system, sidewalks, and storm water management system. The existing JV baseball field will be converted to a softball field, and the playground is proposed to be upgraded with new equipment and surfacing.

The project is located at 1 Dickinson Street in the Village of Silver Creek, Town of Hanover, New York.
