Charges Anticipated Following Saturday Night's Crash on Old Hickory Boulevard

Charges are anticipated following Saturday's 10 p.m. crash in the 5000 block of Old Hickory Boulevard that killed the 26-year-old passenger of a motorcycle. The preliminary investigation indicates a Suzuki motorcycle was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed when it struck the passenger side of a southbound Chevrolet Malibu as it was turning left into the Kroger parking lot.

The driver of the motorcycle, Trevario Pillar, 29, and his 26-year-old female passenger were separated from the Suzuki before it came to rest in the middle of the road. Pillar admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the day.

A search warrant for a sample of Pillar's blood was obtained.

There were no signs of impairment at the scene on part of the Chevrolet driver.

The 26-year-old was transported to Skyline Medical Center where she died. Efforts are underway to notify her family.

The investigation will be staffed with the District Attorney's Office upon its conclusion.
