Tremco Leads with Bio-Based & Energy Efficient Building Solutions

Tremco Construction Products Group (Tremco CPG) enables sustainable construction through its cost-effective, environmentally friendly building solutions. From building materials that lead to energy-efficient structures to bio-based roof coatings made for weatherproofing, Tremco CPG is focused on reducing the carbon footprint of new buildings and maximizing the lifespan and efficiency of existing buildings.

As a testament to Tremco CPG's work to incorporate recycled products into its construction solutions, its Roofing and Building Maintenance business was named a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) BioPreferred Program Pioneer. The company is also one of the first 500 companies to participate in the BioPreferred Certification Program.

One of Tremco CPG's BioPreferred solutions includes AlphaGuard BIO, a reinforced roofing and waterproofing coating. The solution provides an odorless, "cool roof" feature that reduces the heat island effect and enhances a building's ability to regulate temperature.

Tremco CPG products also help builders meet the most stringent performance standards, such as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), GREENGUARD and Living Building Challenge requirements, as well as rigorous energy goals including net-zero, net-positive and deep energy retrofit (DER) initiatives.

For example, Dryvit Exterior Finishes revolutionize building protection through its cladding systems and continuous insulation panels. These prevent thermal bridging and air leakage that waste energy when heating and cooling a building. In turn, both solutions help buildings meet LEED standards.

Tremco CPG's Commercial Sealants & Waterproofing business has created a variety of sealants that meet GREENGUARD standards, a certification that verifies a product has met some of the world's most difficult and complete standards for low emissions of VOCs into indoor air. Tremco's Dymonic FC, which is GREENGUARD Gold certified, is a durable, fast-sealing sealant used for moving joints and perimeter caulking (i.e., windows, door, panels), as well as other building applications.
