Lincoln Financial Group is celebrating the contributions of its early career talent on National Intern Day

Each summer, college students participating in Lincoln's internship development program capitalize on opportunities for continuous learning and development as they gain hands-on experience, make meaningful contributions to the business and gain lasting connections to support their career success. Lincoln's nine-week hybrid internship program includes an executive speaker series, various career workshops and a summit at the Radnor, Pa. headquarters with hands-on sessions around building a personal brand, thriving in a multi-generational workforce and understanding the power of social networks.

Interns who joined Lincoln this year represent more than 50 colleges and universities and reside in 22 different states.

"Through this internship I hope to evolve into a better version of myself, not just as a future employee for Lincoln, but in all aspects of my life," said Kyla Abraham, a rising senior at Morgan State University. "I look forward to applying the knowledge and skills gained here to future projects and challenges, reflecting on my growth with pride and gratitude." Abraham is a user experience research and design intern for Lincoln's public website and employee intranet.

Interns sit across eight of Lincoln's corporate and business areas and a third of this year's current interns are returning for a second year. "This is my second year as an intern at Lincoln," said Conrad French, a rising senior at the University of Pittsburgh. "I initially chose to join Team Lincoln because I knew the company highly valued its employees. I believe Lincoln's program is a boost to my professional growth. I made the decision to return after having a great experience my first year and can see myself having a great career here."

In partnership with the Lincoln Financial Foundation, Lincoln's philanthropic arm, interns participate in service activities at local food bank grantee partners seeking helping hands. All program participants rolled up their sleeves for a combined 260+ volunteer hours during the company's second annual early career week of service.

"One of the most impactful events I've participated in was the Early Career Day of Service at a Philabundance food kitchen," said French. "I had the opportunity to meet many other amazing Lincoln interns and everyone was excited to contribute directly to our community. It felt great to be a part of a company that highly values service."

Participants are given the tools to excel in what they do and how they do it in alignment with Lincoln's core values, focus on their learning and development and celebrate an inclusive culture of belonging.

"The most rewarding aspect of my time at Lincoln has been building lasting friendships," said Abraham. "These connections have created a supportive environment where I can truly be myself and grow both personally and professionally."
