The Summary The Transcript

As a parent, you spend years planning for it, saving for it, anticipating it, and yes, maybe just a little bit, dreading it: the moment when you drop your child off at college for the first time and have to say goodbye.

Last week, some 3,318 members of the Class of 2028 arrived on campus, most accompanied by their families.

"It's what you dream for, you know. Raise your kids and let them go off on their own and be able to handle the world," said Lisa Bani-Esraeli, whose son, Jonathan (Wheelock'28), was moving into West Campus.

It's a ritual that never gets easier, from a parent's oldest to the youngest. In the video above, parents express excitement, sadness, and a lot of pride as they bid their freshmen farewell.
