Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6900 Washington Avenue

September 9, 2024- Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6900 Washington Avenue about 6:15 p.m. on Saturday (September 7).

The identity of the deceased male, 61, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Wu and Officer K. Stanley reported:

A purple Toyota Corolla was possibly traveling southbound near the above address when it sideswiped a black Acura MDX, also traveling southbound. The driver of the Toyota then lost control and struck a concrete barrier.

Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the driver, who appeared to be suffering a medical issue, to Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

No one else was injured. The investigation is continuing.
