City of Peoria Phone Outages and Debris Cleanup

Due to last night's storms, the City of Peoria is experiencing phone issues with non-emergency numbers and the 9-1-1 center.

  • Phone lines are down for the City of Peoria Police Department non-emergency number (309-673-4521) and the City of Peoria Fire Department non-emergency number (309-674-3131)
  • Due to a widespread AT&T outage, phone calls from that carrier are not going through to 9-1-1. Caller using AT&T will still receive assistance. Any call that does not go through to 9-1-1 will be returned by a dispatcher. Dispatchers use a program called Rapid SOS, which allows them to see phone numbers and return calls immediately.

City residents who need to report downed tree or limb blocking a street, alley, or sidewalk should contact Peoria Public Works at 309-494-8800. Cleanup efforts are expected to continue over the next few days.

Due to the severity of the thunderstorms, several traffic signals at various intersections throughout the City are on all-flash or are completely out. Crews have been working diligently to restore the traffic signals to full operations.
