Town of Allegany Allegany Limestone Central School District Capital Improvements Project, 2024

Negative Declaration

Cattaraugus County - The Allegany-Limestone Central School District, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Allegany-Limestone Central School District Capital Improvements Project, 2024 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the various renovations and upgrades at the District's buildings, facilities, and sites.

Proposed Middle-High School (M-HS) interior renovations include conversion of technology rooms to a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) lab, kitchen equipment, elevator, pool locker rooms, gymnasium bleachers and wall pads, and library flooring. Security controls on program doors are proposed at the M-HS and Elementary School (ES). Proposed upgrades to building systems include modernized HVAC equipment upgrades such as select M-HS classroom ventilation units, domestic water and heating isolation valves, cooling a M-HS information technology room, upgraded rooftop unit for ES art and music rooms, and new ES boilers. Proposed building exterior envelope work includes roof restoration at select areas of the M-HS, ES, and Bus Garage.

Proposed site work includes select parking area upgrades including the front staff parking area and drop-off loop at the M-HS and rear staff parking and parent drop-off area at the Elementary School. Proposed athletic facility improvements at the M-HS include an athletic facility building to provide needed indoor athletic space, track and grass football field reconstruction, football press box renovations, and synthetic turf installation in the batting cage. Other items at the M-HS campus may include a new exterior classroom at the renovated technology / STEAM space, upgraded LED site and football field lighting, a walking bridge crossing the tributary in the front of the campus, and reconstruction of wells. The project is located at multiple school location in the Village of Allegany.
