The Marquette Center for Peacemaking will offer an immersion experience for undergraduate and graduate students during Marquette's fall break from Wednesday, Oct. 16, through Sunday, Oct. 20.

Students interested in the fall break interfaith immersion experience can apply and learn more online. Applications are due Sept. 9.

Led by Dr. Louise Cainkar and the Center for Peacemaking, participants will learn about Islam and being Muslim in the U.S. at this point in history. This program visits three cities in Michigan - Dearborn, Detroit and Hamtramck - an area with the largest concentrated Muslim population in the U.S.

Activities include visiting mosques; meeting with scholars, religious leaders, politicians, and activists; participating in a service project; engaging in daily reflection; and eating great food.
