Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 8261 Richmond Avenue

July 3, 2024- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 8261 Richmond Avenue about 1:30 a.m. today (July 3).

The identity of the victim, 31, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Meek and Detective G. Zavala reported:

Officers responded to a shooting call in the parking lot of a business at the above address and found a man unresponsive. He had suffered a gunshot wound. Paramedics were called and pronounced the victim deceased.

Witnesses stated an unknown black male suspect inside a vehicle began shooting at the victim. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.

At this time, there is no known motive in the shooting.
