Investigation into Fatal Crash at 17700 Eastex Freeway

July 3, 2024- Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 17700 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) service road about 12:50 p.m. on Tuesday (July 2).

The identity of the deceased male, 47, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer R. Ramos reported:

The male was driving a blue Nissan Maxima southbound at the above address when he failed to stay in a single lane, left the roadway and struck a tree line. Paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.

No other persons or vehicles were involved in the crash. The investigation is continuing.
