Fatal Hit and Run Leaves Pedestrian Dead NR24236jc

North Hollywood: The Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic Detectives (VTD) are investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision that resulted in the death of a female pedestrian in her late 20s.

On August 16, 2024, around 7:00 p.m., a hit-and-run collision occurred at the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Beck Avenue. The incident involved a female pedestrian who was crossing within a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a Toyota Corolla travelling westbound on Victory Boulevard. The Toyota Corolla continued westbound without stopping and was later found abandoned along the curb on Victory Boulevard, east of Troost Avenue.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 50s who fled the scene on foot without identifying himself or rendering aid, as required by law.

Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department transported the pedestrian to a nearby hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. The pedestrian is described as a Hispanic female in her late 20s. Her name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office. The investigation is ongoing and VTD Detectives are urging anyone who was in the area of Victory Boulevard and Beck Avenue around 7:00 p.m. on August 16, 2024, to come forward with any information related to this fatal hit-and-run.

Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender's identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.

The public is also reminded that as pedestrians, they should obey the rules of the road and walk on designated walking areas, such as sidewalks and crosswalks and avoid being a public hazard while on the roadway.
