Detectives Investigating Fatal Shooting Inside SODO Nightclub

Seattle Police detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in a South of Downtown (SODO) nightclub Saturday morning.

On August 17th at 3:09 a.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1900 block of 1st Avenue South. Police located a male, 22, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers provided medical aid to the victim until the Seattle Fire Department arrived on scene. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) in critical condition. Despite all lifesaving efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at HMC.

The male was shot inside of a nightclub by an unidentified suspect(s). The patrons dispersed before police arrived only to find security with the victim. The suspect(s) fled the scene. No arrests have been made at this time.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation. Homicide and Crime Scene Investigation Units processed the crime scene. Detectives in the Homicide Unit have been assigned to this case.
