WASHINGTON, D.C. - Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Marisa Lago will lead a delegation of U.S. business leaders to the Philippines and Indonesia from November 12-20, 2024. As part of the Innovative Technologies for Urban Infrastructure Development Mission to the Philippines and Indonesia, the delegation will meet with senior government officials and business communities to strengthen U.S. partnerships in smart cities, digital ecosystems, and sustainable development.

From November 12-15, Under Secretary Lago will travel to the Philippines and build on the momentum generated by Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo's leadership of a Presidential Trade and Investment Mission to the Philippines in March 2024. The Secretary's recent visit underscored the importance of driving inclusive economic growth, particularly in trade, investment, and technological leadership in the Indo-Pacific region. During the Under Secretary's visit to the Philippines, she will engage with government and business leaders in the Luzon Economic Corridor to promote partnerships that support the nation's rapid urbanization and infrastructure goals.

From November 15-20, Under Secretary Lago will travel to Indonesia and reinforce the U.S. commitment to a robust bilateral relationship, following Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves' attendance at the inauguration of President Prabowo Subianto last month. In Indonesia, the Under Secretary will meet with senior government officials to advance collaboration in digital transformation and smart city projects, including in Indonesia's new capital, Nusantara, where American companies are poised to contribute expertise and innovation to support the capital's sustainable development.
