August 23, 2024- Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 15300 Clay Road that occurred about 3:50 p.m. on Thursday (August 22).

The identity of the deceased man, 27, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Le and Officer X. Zhang reported:

A grey Ford Focus was traveling westbound near the above address when the vehicle struck a guardrail on the north side of the street. The Ford then veered to the left, drove over the center median and into the eastbound lanes of Clay Road. The Ford then struck a silver Chevrolet Sonic head-on.

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the driver of the Ford deceased. The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
