Celebrating Aviation Innovation

While Arkansas' Fourth Congressional District may not be home to what some would call a large or major airport hub, we are on track to be a national leader in the aviation industry. August 19-25 is National Aviation Week, a time to honor American aviation history and celebrate historic legislation that continues to drive aviation innovation.

As a Member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Subcommittee on Aviation, I actively work on legislative solutions to bolster our aviation capabilities. A few months ago, bipartisan legislation from our subcommittee was signed into law to reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the next five fiscal years. The Securing Growth and Robust Leadership in Aviation Act, also known as the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024, will impact more than just passengers and pilots. This historic legislation will benefit farmers, business owners, healthcare providers, and everyday folks through timely and strategic policy provisions that bolster aviation safety, economic growth, and local investments.

The FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024 is a commonsense, forward-thinking policy supporting all the small and medium-sized airfields serving Arkansans and our robust agricultural aviation industry. This National Aviation Week, I'm celebrating this landmark legislation that will put Arkansas on the runway as the gold standard in aviation.
