Village of Carthage Carthage Central School District Capital Improvement Project 2024

Negative Declaration

Jefferson County - The Board of Education of the Carthage Central School District, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Carthage Central School District - Capital Improvement Project 2024 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves multiple locations in the school district:

  • Black River Elementary: Interior/exterior building improvements including select window replacement, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing upgrades, various instructional space renovations, and fence replacement.
  • Carthage & West Carthage Elementary School: Interior/exterior building improvements including select window replacement, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing upgrades, various instructional space renovations, and parking, sidewalk and playground improvements.
  • Transportation Center: Interior/exterior building improvements including door replacements, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing upgrades, replace underground fuel tank, stormwater management and pavement improvements.
  • Carthage Middle School: Interior building improvements/renovations including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing upgrades, various instructional space renovations, and sidewalk and playground improvements.

Carthage High School: Interior/exterior building improvements including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing upgrades, various instructional space renovations. New softball/baseball/multi-purpose field facility, parking areas, and 31,000+/- sf gymnasium addition.

The project is located at various locations throughout the Carthage Central School District in the Town of Carthage.
