Minor Delays Likely on Route 31 (Glades Pike) in Somerset County Beginning Monday, Aug. 12 for Pipe Cleaning

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is informing motorists of the potential for minor delays along Route 31 (Glades Pike) in Somerset County from Monday, Aug. 12, through Friday, Aug. 23.

Crews will be cleaning pipes along the entire project location. Work will be conducted under daylight flagging operations and motorists can expect minimum delays.

As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Motorists should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from flaggers. 

The work is part of a $3.3 million project contracted to New Enterprise Stone & Lime, New Enterprise, Pa., that includes the replacement of a 72" pipe, pavement resurfacing, and drainage and guide rail updates on Route 31 from Barn Swallow Road in Jefferson Township to the Somerset Borough line. The tentative completion date is October 2024.
