Downtown Streetscape Project Nears Completion as Crews Finalize Key Elements

Progress on the Downtown Streetscape project continues. Steel Excavating has completed around 90% of the concrete removal, storm sewer work, and sidewalk grading, with only minor grading and sanitary sewer manhole adjustments left to finish.

Van Maanen Electric has installed the underground conduit and bases for the streetscape lighting. The next steps involve pulling wire and installing the light fixtures. Meanwhile, A&A Concrete has completed curbs and gutters on N 2nd Ave E and E 2nd St N and plans to finish W 3rd St N by the end of the week. They will then move on to sidewalks, driveway approaches, and light pole footings. Manatt's will soon begin HMA paving, starting on the project's west end, and, weather permitting, the project is expected to reach substantial completion by November 15. Final tree planting and seeding will likely occur in the spring of 2025.
