WASHINGTON - The Federal Election Commission has learned that a malicious actor has sent fraudulent emails purporting to be from the Commission, titled "Update Your Voter Registration Now!"
The emails originate from an address, [email protected], that is not associated with the Federal Election Commission, and directs recipients to click on a link.
The Commission reminds members of the public to check carefully the return address of any email purportedly from the Commission. The Commission's emails would always come from addresses ending with .gov or service.govdelivery.com.
Voters can visit the Commission's Election Day webpage to access helpful links to be directed to state and federal voting resources.
