Clarification of the Communications Workers of America Endorsement of Kamala Harris

Last week, the Communications Workers of America's Executive Board unequivocally endorsed Kamala Harris for President.

Some media outlets have been erroneously reporting that the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA has not endorsed Vice President Harris. AFA-CWA International President Sara Nelson is a member of CWA's Executive Board and voted to endorse Vice President Harris. Sectors of the Communications Workers of America do not have a separate process for Presidential endorsements.

By erroneously reporting this information, the media has been causing confusion about CWA's position.

In addition, CWA has not made any public statements about individuals under consideration to be Kamala Harris's running mate. We believe that Vice President Harris is the only person who can make that decision, and that she will choose someone who will help energize the country around her campaign and who has the experience and temperament to serve in her place if necessary.
