Get involved during UWL's fifth-annual giving day Oct. 15-16

One Day for UWL is set for Oct. 15 and 16 - the university's largest annual celebration of philanthropy, and the one day of the year when each gift makes the greatest impact.

On One Day, the entire UWL community is invited to make gifts supporting a wide range of campus causes, including scholarships, athletics, academic departments and services, cocurricular programs, and more.

Beginning at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, with a celebration at Hoeschler Tower and concluding at the same time and place the following day, One Day calls upon UWL alumni, friends, staff, faculty, students and community members to raise as much money as possible in 24 hours. In many cases, additional dollars are waiting to be unlocked through challenges and matching gifts.

While One Day for UWL is primarily a digital experience and fundraiser, the UWL Alumni & Friends Foundation has organized a full schedule of eventsto drive engagement and awareness on campus.

"One Day for UWL is a dynamic, 24-hour giving campaign designed to unite the community in support of the university," says Lauren Wanders, annual giving coordinator. "Its purpose is to empower students, enhance academic programs and expand opportunities through collective generosity. The energy of the event is driven by passionate alumni, students and friends coming together to make a meaningful impact in just one day."

This year's event will be UWL's fifth-annual giving day. To date, One Day has generated more than 6,000 donations totaling nearly $1.3 million, supporting student success and touching every corner of campus.

"The success of our university depends in no small part on the generosity of alumni, friends and the entire UWL community," Chancellor James Beeby says. "We are incredibly grateful to those who continue to support our students year after year. And if you, like me, are new to the One Day for UWL experience, I invite you to join us in coming together to make a positive difference."
