Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6500 East Freeway

November 1, 2024- Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6500 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) about 12:45 a.m. today (November 1).

The identity of the deceased male, 64, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer S. Bouarar reported:

The male was operating a red Honda GL1800 motorcycle westbound near the above address when he struck the rear of a Toyota RAV4 being towed by a second Toyota RAV4. That crash produced debris that disabled a maroon Dodge Ram pickup truck.

Following the crash, the operator of the Honda was lying in the roadway and was struck by a vehicle of unknown make or model. The vehicle did not stop to provide assistance and fled the scene. The drivers of the Toyota and the Dodge remained at the scene and called 9-1-1 and responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
