INCIDENT SUMMARY: According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff's Office arrested Keith D. Powell, age 73, after the after an investigation determined that Powell attended a visit at the Washington County Jail and introduced narcotics into the Correctional Facility. Powell was charged with Promoting Prison Contraband in the 1st Degree, a class D Felony and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, a class B Felony. More charges are likely.

Powell was arraigned in Washington County Centralized Arraignment Court and released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Fort Edward Court at a later date.
