Goehring announces APUC awards funding

BISMARCK, N.D. - Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has announced North Dakota Agricultural Products Utilization Commission (APUC) awards for seven projects. The awards totaling $418,607 were approved at the APUC quarterly meeting July 31-Aug. 1 in Medora.<_o3a_p>

APUC is a program of the North Dakota Department of Agriculture that administers grant programs for research and development of new and expanded uses for North Dakota agricultural products which support the development of concepts and products that support our rural communities and agriculture operations. The grants can be used for basic and applied research, marketing and utilization, farm diversification, nature-based agritourism, prototype and technology and technical assistance.<_o3a_p>

The following received approval:<_o3a_p>

Botlink, LLC was awarded $48,000 to progress drone machine learning for detection of invasive species. Contact Matt Sather at 701-412-2988.<_o3a_p>

APUC will hold its next grant application hearing on Nov. 20-21, 2024, in Bismarck. Applications for the next meeting must be received by Oct. 1, 2024.<_o3a_p>
