Summer Fun at Daggerwing Nature Center

​Daggerwing Nature Center is operated by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department. It is located in Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park at 11435 Park Access Road, off Cain Boulevard between Glades Road and Yamato Road, west of Boca Raton. Please register online at www.pbcparks.com; under "Online Services," click on Register/Pay for Program. All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form before each program. Activities promote environmental awareness, conservation, recreation, and educate on health and wellness in the community.

ANIMAL FEEDINGS & TALKS
Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 2:45 p.m.

During feeding time, listen to a short talk about one of Daggerwing's resident animals.

MOTHER NATURE & ME: BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES

Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities, and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers!

BIRDING 101
Saturday, July 6, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 5+, $5/participant (Reservations required)

Learn about the exciting hobby of bird watching. First, join a naturalist who will teach about different types of birds and identification skills. Then practice these new skills during a guided birding adventure.

DAGGERWING VISITS THE LIBRARY: REPTILES
Tuesday, July 9, 3 p.m.
Ages 5+, FREE (Reservations required)

Enjoy a special program about reptiles featuring a visit from one of the nature center's resident animal ambassadors. Located at the Glades Road Branch Library! Call the library for details and RSVP at (561) 482-4554.

ORIENTEERING
Friday, July 12, 9:30 a.m.
Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)

Join a naturalist and learn how to navigate using a map and compass! Participants will then get to practice the directional skills they learn on a fun, outside adventure course. Please bring a water bottle, sun protection, and closed-toe shoes.

MOTHER NATURE & ME: STORMY WEATHER

INTRO TO ARCHERY
Saturday, July 20, 9:30 a.m.
Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)

Join USA Archery certified staff and learn about the exciting sport of archery. This program teaches archery safety, skills, and proper use of a bow and arrow before practicing on the range. Equipment is provided.

Note: Bows may be difficult to pull for smaller children.
