July 2024 Program Guide for Okeeheelee Nature Center

Okeeheelee Nature Center is operated by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department and is located in Okeeheelee Park at 7715 Forest Hill Boulevard, west of West Palm Beach. For more information on Okeeheelee Nature Center and other county-operated nature centers, visit www.pbcnature.com. All programs are by reservation only, unless otherwise stated. Please register online at www.pbcparks.com under "Online Services" click on Register/Pay for Program, or visit the nature center to register and make payment. All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form before each program. Activities promote environmental awareness, conservation, recreation, and educate on health and wellness in the community.

Join USA Archery certified instructors and learn the basics of archery, from safety to shooting, and develop a great new skill to focus your mind on a single target. All equipment is provided. Space is limited, so register today!

SNAKES AROUND THE WORLD
Saturday, July 13, 2 - 3:30 p.m.
Families/all ages, $5/participant (Reservations required)

Join us as we celebrate World Snake Day with ONC staff and special guests from the South Florida Herpetological Society to learn about slithery friends from around the world! This hands-on experience will uncover many misconceptions about these legless critters.

ADVANCED ARCHERY***
Saturday, July 27, 10 - 11:30 a.m.

***Prerequisite: Must have completed Archery for Beginners***

SUPERSTARS OF THE NIGHT
Tuesday, July 30, 8- 9:30 p.m.
Ages 8+, $5/participant (Reservations required)

Naturalists will lead the group on a relaxing night hike to search for the superstars of the night- nocturnal animals! Participants will explore the night sky with telescopes. Rain or shine, get excited to learn with our special guests from the Astronomical Society of the Palm Beaches!
