Troopers investigate crash involving pedestrian in Cicero

On August 4, 2024, at about 5:38 p.m., State Police responded to State Route 31 in the town of Cicero for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

The preliminary investigation determined that 13-year old Evan J. Wilson, of Cicero, NY, was walking on the shoulder when he stepped into the lane of travel and was struck by a 2019 black GMC Sierra pickup truck operated by Kenny L. Cloinger, age 63, also of Cicero.

Wilson was transported to Upstate Hospital in critical condition.

State Police were assisted at the scene by Cicero Fire Department, NAVAC ambulance, and Cicero Police Department.

The investigation is continuing.
