Holiday Closure

Most City departments in City facilities are closed from 12 p.m. on December 24, 2024 to January 1, 2025. Only essential services, including emergency response, will be offered during this period.

Servus Credit Union Place and Fountain Park Recreation Centre will be CLOSED on December 25 and January 1 and open with modified holiday hours between December 26 and December 31.

St. Albert Place will be CLOSED effective December 24 and will re-open on January 2.

Online Services

All available online services will be accessible during the holiday break. To view these services, visit our Online Services page

  • Dog Licences registration, renewals, records and billing - contact Municipal Enforcement by phone at 780-418-6644 or email [email protected]
    • For dog licensing, the RCMP Detachment front counter is open with reduced hours during the holiday season. For current hours, please view the RCMP Service Counter Hours

Utility And Tax Payments

  • Payments can be dropped off at the St. Albert Place mail slot located on the right-hand side of the front doors. Please note that in-person payments will NOT be available during the holiday closure.

    Utility and Tax payments may be made at participating financial institutions or through telephone or internet banking (for taxes your roll number is your account number; for utilities your account number is noted on your utility bill).

    By Mail - For Taxes - on or before December 31, 2024. Payments made via cheque should be made out to "The City of St. Albert" and postmarked (stamped or printed on the envelope by Canada Post) on or before December 31, to avoid late penalties.

Waste Collection

  • Between December 26 and December 31, extra garbage tags can be purchased at Servus Place during their holiday hours.
  • There will be no waste collection on December 25 and January 1. Collection will occur on December 26 and January 2 for any areas not collected due to Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Please note collection on these days may take longer to complete due to the increase in cart pickups.

  • Alberta 211: Dial 2-1-1 or visit www.ab.211.ca for free supports to connect to a variety of community resources (24/7)
  • 9-8-8 Suicide Crisis Helpline - free of charge and available 24/7 for calls and texts
  • If you are experiencing a water or sewer emergency, or similar emergent issues that pose a safety risk to people or your property, please call 780-458-2020.

  • For urgent St. Albert Transit matters during the holiday closure, email [email protected]
  • Other City phone numbers will not be monitored over the holiday closure (December 25, 2023 to January 1, 2024) and will be answered again starting January 2, 2024. Please note that throughout the closure many services can be completed using our online services on our Online Services page.

Please Note: Due to the holiday closure, City Highlights will not be published on December 25 or January 1 and Citylights will not be published on December 26, January 2 or 9.
