Investigation into Fatal Crash at 700 East Freeway

September 16, 2024- Houston police are investigating a fatal hit and run crash at 700 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) about 2:05 a.m. on Sunday (September 15).

The identity of the deceased male, 35, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer R. Young reported:

According to a witness, the male was walking eastbound on the freeway near the above address when he was struck by a vehicle of unknown make and model. The vehicle did not stop to render aid and fled the scene. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.

At this time, there is no known vehicle or suspect description.
