Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 8600 Tidwell Road

September 16, 2024- Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 8600 Tidwell Road about 11:30 a.m. on Sunday (September 15).

The suspect, Joshua White, 23, is charged with murder and felon in possession of a firearm in the 337th State District Court. A booking photo of White is attached to this news release.

The identity of the victim, 35 is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Holbrook and Detective R. Lujan reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a 9-1-1 call of a shooting in a parking lot at the above address and found an unresponsive man with gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man deceased. A suspect was detained at the scene.

Further investigation determined the men were involved in a dispute and the suspect, identified as White, admitted to shooting the victim. The Harris County District Attorney's Office was contacted and White was subsequently charged for his role. White was then booked into the Harris County Jail.
