2024 Orientation sets new records

[Link]"Education With a Christian Purpose" is unstoppable at Olivet Nazarene University! As ONU prepares for the Fall 2024 semester, the Office of Admissions recently welcomed more than 1,800 guests to a special in-person 2-day Orientation event on campus.

This year's event was the largest in ONU history with 650 freshmen and 57 transfer students attending.

They represent 37 U.S. states plus several other countries, including the Pacific Rim countries. While on campus, they were introduced to academics and campus life. There was also time for them to get acquainted with one another.

"Orientation is a special time for the University to welcome incoming students," said Luke Franklin '11/'23 MBA, Executive Director of Traditional Enrollment for ONU. "We consistently hear from students who attended Orientation, saying they cannot wait to come back to campus and start their Olivet experience."

Presentations by University President Gregg Chenoweth; Dr. Amber Residori, dean of the School of Professional Studies; and LaMorris Crawford '06, Alumni Board member, inspired attendees to learn the culture, build relationships and make an impact for their future. Dr. Chenoweth challenged the incoming students to become a Tiger, reminding them that Tigers can see in the dark! He charged them with their opportunity to step into their God-given calling at ONU. Students also had the opportunity to connect informally at a late-night student celebration on the Weber Center lawn. They enjoyed live music, a special pizza delivery, lawn games, s'mores and lots of conversation.

Concluding the event was the supportive cheer from those gathered on the sidelines as the students and families departed. They represent "the great cloud of witnesses" who are encouraging these new students to work harder, go farther and make a difference for God's Kingdom.
