TEDxGeorgiaCollege announces 2024 speaker lineup

Nine distinguished speakers to take the stage at TEDxGeorgiaCollege

In partnership with TED, the Leadership Programs at Georgia College & State University are bringing TEDx to Georgia College and to Milledgeville. TEDxGeorgiaCollege will be hosted Friday, Oct. 18, in Russell Auditorium.

TEDxGeorgiaCollege will feature nine distinguished speakers and performers who will deliver talks on the latest ideas and research, all in the spirit of TED's commitment to "Ideas Worth Spreading." Each talk will be broadcast internationally and shared through TED's global network, showcasing for the international TED community the unique voices, stories and ideas that make Georgia College special.

The speaker lineup includes:

  • Cynthia Alby, professor of Education, Georgia College& State University
  • Isaiah Burks '21, Residence Life coordinator, Oxford College of Emory University
  • Jimmy Childre Jr.,president, Childre Ford, Inc.
  • Libby Cole '08, owner and coach, Expand Coaching and Consulting, LLC
  • Ashley Copeland '12, director of Community Engagement & Service, Georgia College & State University
  • Richa Moses, Bachelor of Business Administration Candidate, Georgia College
  • Samantha Paton, Bachelor of Arts candidate, Georgia College & State University
  • Rob Sumowski, '93, '99, associate professor of Special Education, Georgia College & State University
  • Kristine White, associate professor of Biology, Georgia College & State University

TEDxGeorgiaCollege will explore the theme of "Evidence of Things Unseen."

"Our wonderful speakers-students, faculty, alumni and friends-will showcase the best of Georgia College to the international TED community," says Harold Mock, director of leadership programs, who chairs the TEDxGeorgiaCollege Board of Curators. "TEDxGeorgiaCollege offers an opportunity to share the ideas born and nourished at our university to an audience of more than 37 million around the world."

Ticket sales for TEDxGeorgiaCollege open today and are available online at tedxgeorgiacollege.com. General admission tickets are available for $55, and student tickets are available for $21. GC Journeys is the Official Student Partner for TEDxGeorgiaCollege.
