State Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Richland

On August 25, 2024, at 04:11 p.m., State Police responded to County Route 2 in the town of Richland for a motorcycle crash with injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed a black 2005 Kawasaki, operated by Michael L. Lopez, age 30, from Oswego, NY, was traveling west on County Route 2 at a high rate of speed while negotiating a curve, causing him to lose control of the motorcycle and crash into a guard rail.

Lopez was transported to Upstate Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
