“Diplo 2024”, Minister Hasani: MEFA will have a special structure for Albanians in the region

On the second day of the Ambassadors' Conference, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, emphasized that Albanians in the Western Balkans region are pro-active factors and actors in the design and implementation of policies, both at the local and regional level.

"Tirana does not interfere in the internal affairs and internal dialogue of Albanians wherever they are. We try to engage and talk with our sisters and brothers about a very important issue that is Euro-Atlantic integration. All Albanian political forces, wherever they are, have been the promoters of the development and relocation of their societies, towards the European family", said Minister Hasani during the panel "Albanian space in the geopolitics of the region" directed by journalist Sokol Balla.

Albanian Chief Diplomat Hasani said that MEFA has started a serious project to create a department which will deal exclusively with Albanians in the region.

"This department will deal with all the issues that have to do with the Albanians of the valley, with the brothers and sisters in Kosovo, with the situation in Montenegro. We will continue to be persistent, we will continue to be engaged so that other realities that need the attention of the Albanian state are well represented within this year", said MEFA Igli Hasani.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning of the Republic of North Macedonia, Izet Mejhiti, were part of the panel; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development of Montenegro, Nik Gjeloshaj; The Doctor of History Sciences at the University of Pristina, Ibrahim Gashi and the Chairman of the Albanian National Council in the Presheva Valley, Nevzad Lutfiu.

Lutfiu appreciated the continuous support of the Albanian side for the Albanians in the Presheva Valley.

"We feel the support and focus of Kosovo and Albania. I believe that it is time for Kosovo and Albania to draw up a national strategy through which they approach the interests of the Albanians of the Presheva Valley", said the Chairman of the Albanian National Council in the Presheva Valley, Nevzad Lutfiu.
