Dr. Shahin participates in the opening session of the Christian Churches Summit for Peace in Jericho

Dr. Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, delivered a speech at the opening session of the Christian Churches for Peace Summit on Friday, November 15, 2024. The three-day summit, held under the theme "And We Still Rise," brought together over 100 church leaders from the United States, and other countries, with strong participation from Palestinian churches.

In her speech, Minister Shahin condemned the genocide in Gaza and urged the international community to act to end Palestinian suffering. She emphasized the role of churches in supporting justice for Palestine and lasting peace in the Middle East. She also expressed concern about the declining Christian population in Palestine due to the effects of the occupation.
