Moore earns second straight Ivy Rookie of the Week award

Emery Moore, a first-year setter on the volleyball team, has been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the second week in a row. This marks the third time in four weeks that a Penn player has earned the Rookie of the Week honor, as first-year middle blocker Adell Murray won the award on Sept. 9.

Moore, from Indianapolis, Indiana, totaled 86 assists (10.75 a/s) and had a .455 hitting percentage (10K-0E-22A) as the Quakers split its home-and-home with Princeton over the weekend, beating the Tigers for the first time since in nine years. She had 42 assists, four kills, two block assists, and seven digs on Friday in the Red & Blue's 3-1 win in New Jersey, and followed it up with 44 assists, six kills (.600), nine digs, and two block assists in Saturday's 3-1 loss that took place in Rockwell Gym.

The Quakers are back at home this weekend, hosting defending Ivy League champion Yale on Friday at 7 p.m. and following up with Brown on Saturday at 5 p.m. Both matches are slated to take place in The Palestra.

The volleyball team is 7-4 on the season, including 1-1 in conference play. They have already surpassed last year's win total, when they finished 4-20.
