REMINDER: Mike Rogers Voted Against Measures to Lower the Cost of Prescription Drugs, Forcing Michiganders to Pay the Price

LANSING - Today's anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act being signed into law puts Mike Rogers' record of opposing measures to lower the cost of prescription drugs, spiking health care costs and making it harder for people to afford the life-saving medicine they need in the spotlight.

Rogers "voted in support of legislation to limit prescription drug benefits for Medicare recipients." Rogers "voted against giving Medicare the power to negotiate prescription drug prices directly with drug companies" which was later accomplished through a provision in the Inflation Reduction Act.

Rogers has a long record of putting working families last. He wants to jeopardize Social Security, transform Medicare into a voucher program, and gut the Affordable Care Act which would spike costs for families.

"Mike Rogers opposes measures to lower the cost of prescription drugs, making it harder for people to afford the life-saving medicine they need and hurting working families. Rogers' record is clear - he is only in this race to enrich himself and his wealthy special interest backers while Michiganders pay the price," said Michigan Democratic Party spokesperson Sam Chan.
