Norton Rose Fulbright advises Citibank on US$200 million credit facility to Brazilian airline Azul

A Norton Rose Fulbright deal team advised Citibank, NA on the closing of a US$200 million credit facility extended to Azul Investments LLP (Azul) as well as its subsidiaries Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras SA and Azul SA. Azul is the largest airline in Brazil by number of flights and cities served.

The facility will be used to finance engine maintenance of the subsidiaries' Embraer and Airbus fleet.

The transaction was guaranteed by the Brazilian Agency for the Management of Guarantee and Guarantee Funds (ABGF), and the Export Financing and Guarantee Committee (COFIG) approved the operation under the conditions presented by ABGF.

Norton Rose Fulbright's deal team was led by José Cobeña (São Paulo) and included Kevin Prokup (New York) and Denton Nichols (Houston) with assistance from paralegal Juliana Liano Souza (São Paulo).
