Chain of Lakes fireworks restriction reminder

BISMARCK, N.D.- The public is reminded that possessing, discharging, and using fireworks is strictly prohibited on all Bureau of Reclamation lands and water bodies.

"Federal regulation restricts the possession or use of fireworks on Reclamation lands and waterbodies," said Reclamation's Dakotas Area Office Manager Joe Hall. "Fireworks pose a significant fire risk to neighboring landowners, particularly in years of low rainfall. Please be respectful and refrain from setting off fireworks at Chain of Lakes."

The public is encouraged to report any illegal activity to the McLean County Sheriff Dispatch (701-462-8103) or directly to the Bureau of Reclamation (701-250-4242).
