OTTAWA COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

Week of July 1, 2024

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (Friday, June 28, 2024) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Ottawa County in the coming weeks. All outlined work is weather permitting.

Project ID: 96755

State Route 2, between Erie County and SR 53, Port Clinton,is open to two lanes.
  • Additional lane restrictions and ramp closures are necessary, which will not begin until after July 4, 2024. Future ramp closures during the summer season would occur Sunday-Thursday or after Labor Day.

Westbound State Route 2, between SR 163 and W. Lakeshore Dr., west of Port Clinton, is reduced to one lane for a slide repair near the railroad tracks overpass through summer.

Maintenance

Westbound State Route 2, between SR 269 and SR 53, will experience occasional shoulder restrictions for ditch cleaning throughout summer.

State Route 53, between SR 2 and SR 163, Port Clinton, interchange and roundabouts are now open.
  • The intersection of SR 163 at SR 53 will be resurfaced during the week, Sunday night through Thursday night. Dates to be determined.

State Route 590 is closed over Toussaint Creek Branchthrough mid-July. Detour: SR 2 to SR 19 to SR 163. Project completion is October 31.

State Route 579 will experience lane and shoulder restrictions at Elliston-Trowbridge Rd. for tile replacement through mid-July.
