Two individuals arrested for petit larceny in the town of Potsdam

On July 12, 2024, State Police members arrested Angel M. Markelle Dafoe, age 29, of Canton, NY, and Jason McCarthy, age 39, of Russell, NY for petit larceny.

On July 12, 2024, at approximately 10:16 p.m., Troopers responded to Walmart located on US Highway 11 in the town of Potsdam for a larceny complaint. An investigation determined Dafoe and McCarthy entered the store stealing merchandise valued at $196.74 passing all points of purchase without paying. Dafoe and McCarthy left the scene before law enforcement's arrival.

Dafoe and McCarthy were located, arrested, and transported to SP Canton for processing. They were released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Potsdam Court for a later date in August.
