State Police conduct an Underage Drinking Initiative in Jefferson...
On August 31, 2024, the New York State Police conducted an Underage Drinking Initiative in Jefferson County.
As a result of the initiative, the following locations were checked and found in compliance:
• Circle K- 23179 State Route 342, Watertown, NY 13601
• Allen's Liquor & Wines - 23215 State Route 342, Watertown, NY 13601
• Quicklees - 23582 State Route 342, Watertown, NY 13601
• Sunoco - 22270 State Route 11, Watertown, NY 13601
• Bear World - 22093 State Route 11, Watertown, NY 13601
• Blinky's Liquor - 22087 State Route 11, Watertown, NY 13601
• 7-11 - 25744 US Route 11, Evans Mills, NY 13637
• ALDI - 26163 State Route 11, Evans Mills, NY 13637
The following locations were found NOT to be in compliance with the laws dealing with the sale of alcohol to persons under the age of 21:
• Griff's Beverage Center - 25640 State Route 37, Watertown, NY 13601
• Grand Union Supermarket - 22050 Seaway Plaza Dr., Watertown, NY 13601
• Route 11 Wine & Liquor - 26179 State Route 11, Evans Mills, NY 13637
• Walmart - 25737 State Route 11, Evans Mills, NY 13637
As a result, the following individuals were arrested for Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st degree (PL 260.20) and Prohibitive Sale of Alcohol to a person under twenty-one years old (ABC 65-1):
Lori A. Carlson, age 63, from Watertown, NY
Dominick Tonne, age 19, from Evans Mills, NY
Dalton D. Brownell, age 22, from Antwerp, NY
Emom D. Lewis, age 25, from Fort Drum, NY
During these investigations, businesses are checked utilizing a Trooper in plain clothes and one or several underage operatives who cannot lie about their age or provide a false date of birth.
