Washburn University Physics and Astronomy Department Welcomes Public to Open Viewing Sessions of the Crane Observatory Through Dec. 12

Topeka, Kan. - The Washburn University Physics and Astronomy Department will have open viewing sessions of the Crane Observatory every Thursday through Dec. 12. These sessions are free and open to the public.

8 - 9:30 p.m., Sept. 5
8 - 9:30 p.m., Sept. 12
8 - 9:30 p.m., Sept. 19
8 - 9:30 p.m., Sept. 26
7:30 - 9 p.m., Oct. 3
7:30 - 9 p.m., Oct. 10
7:30 - 9 p.m., Oct. 17
7:30 - 9 p.m., Oct. 24
6:30 - 8 p.m., Nov. 7
6:30 - 8 p.m., Nov. 14
6:30 - 8 p.m., Nov. 21
6:30 - 8 p.m., Dec. 5
6:30 - 8 p.m., Dec. 12

Where: Fourth floor, Crane Observatory in Stoffer Science Hall on the Washburn University campus. Attendees have the option to take the stairs or the elevator to the fourth floor.

Stoffer Science Hall is also home to Washburn's Planetarium. At the planetarium, 30 visitors can see a projection of the night sky and learn more about the universe in which we live. If the night sky is too cloudy for an open viewing session, guests can visit the planetarium.
