Information on Arizona MVD Voter Registration Issue

On Tuesday, the Arizona Secretary of State's Office announced that a historical error has been identified, which suggests that approximately 98,000 Arizonans were able to register as 'full ballot' voters without providing proof of citizenship because of a coding glitch in the state's motor vehicle database.

This specific error affected voters who obtained their Arizona driver's license before October 1996 and were issued a duplicate replacement before registering to vote sometime after 2004.

We understand around 9,000 Pinal County voters may be impacted. We are awaiting further information from the Arizona Secretary of State's Office on who these impacted voters are, and what course of action will be taken to rectify the situation.

As soon as we have more information, we will make it available through our website - pinal.gov/PinalVotes, and the PinalVotes social media channels. If you have questions at this stage, please contact the Arizona Secretary of State's Office: https://azsos.gov/about/contact-us
