King of Prussia, PA- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction has been completed on a project to rehabilitate the Ashbourne Road bridge over branch of Tookany Creekin Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County.
Under this project, PennDOT's contractor rehabilitated the 114-year-old brick arch, single-span bridge with reconstructed spandrel walls, wing walls, and parapets. Approximately, 1,609 vehicles travel the 38-foot-wide, 12-foot-long structure daily.
Ashbourne Road bridge is one of seven structures in Bucks and Montgomery counties that PennDOT is rehabilitating or replacing under a $7,987,000 project.
The other structures scheduled for culvert replacements include the following:
Loftus Construction, Inc. of Cinnaminson, New Jersey, is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
