PennDOT's Fayette County Maintenance Update

Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of August 26. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Base repair:

  • Route 281 (Main Street and Mae West Road) in Markleysburg and Henry Clay townships.
  • Route 2011 (Dinnerbell-Ohiopyle Road) in Markleysburg Township.

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 3008 (Willow Grove Road) in Nicholson Township.

Road closed. Posted detour:

  • Route 3008 (Willow Grove Road).
  • Route 3009 (Woodside Old Frame Road).
  • Route 3011 (Fairview Hill Road).

Brushing:

  • Various routes countywide.

Pipe replacement:

  • Route 2021 (Coolspring Jumonville Road) in North Union Township.

Shoulder cutting:

  • Route 166 (Edenborn Road) in German Township.
  • Route 3013 (Palmer Adah Road) in German Township.
  • Route 4002 (Ralph Road) in German and Luzerne townships.

Sign upgrading:

  • Various routes countywide.

Spot milling:

  • Route 1020 (North Gallatin Avenue) in North Union Township.
  • Route 2027 (Connellsville Street) in North Union Township.


Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

​Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the county.

PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern. This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways. The number is 1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623).

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
