Autumn 2024 ‘Crowdfund Dublin City’ funding round opens

Dublin City Council would like to announce the latest round of funding for the 'Crowdfund Dublin City' partnership, an initiative to support community-led projects that improve the local area.

Applicants have until the 23rd of Octoberto have their project fully costed, any relevant permissions in place and their project page created on Spacehive. They must also have pitched to the Crowdfund Dublin City fund by this date.

In partnership with Spacehive, the community fundraising platform, the 'Crowdfund Dublin City' programme provides €300,000 annually to enable local residents across the city to exclusively access funding for community-led initiatives. The crowdfunding nature of this programme, in collaboration with Dublin City Council funding, maximises the amount campaigners can raise in order to deliver transformational community projects that matter to them.

Through the fund, community groups, social enterprises, local charities and individuals with community support could potentially receive a pledge of up to 50% of their crowdfunding target, capped at €5,000. This contribution from Dublin City Council is pledged directly into their crowdfunding campaign alongside contributions from the community.

The fund is allocated to services not already provided by Dublin City Council and is available to residents in the Dublin City Council administrative area.

Ideas could include sustainability and environmental initiatives, improving the health and wellbeing of communities, promoting social inclusion and diversity, and enhancing green spaces. No fundraising experience is necessary - 65% of Spacehive project creators are creating a community project for the first time. Spacehive assists project creators with online workshops, 1-2-1 support and resources, providing advice on everything from project costs to campaign promotion.
