Justin Bragg named SCSU Director of Esports

Justin Bragg has been named St. Cloud State University's new Director of Esports.

Bragg previously coached esports at Purdue Northwest for four seasons, leading the Pride to five varsity titles. Last season their League of Legends team was ranked as high as 8th in the national polls, while the Call of Duty team ranked as high as 11th in the country.

"I'm ecstatic Justin's joining our team; I can't wait to see what he will bring to expand our esports program," said Chris Stanley, Director of Educational Technology Innovations. "Our students will appreciate his record of success, his passion for esports and his commitment to student success."

Bragg led recruitment at Purdue Northwest, with as many as 72 players on the varsity esports team and 150 students involved in both club and varsity esports on campus.

Bragg was also a well-known League of Legends competitive player. He played in the Challenger tier, the highest rank in League of Legends, for 5 seasons between 2014-2019. He was ranked as high as 10th in North America.

"I am excited to join St Cloud State and help continue building the esports program," Justin Bragg said. "Esports offers the community so much, and I am looking forward to working with the students at St Cloud State."

Prior to his time at Purdue Northwest, Bragg was the head esports coach at Illinois College for 3 years. Native to the Chicagoland area, Bragg graduated from the University of Illinois in 2014 with a degree in Recreation, Sport and Tourism.
